Bio

After collaborating together to write a cluster of song ideas at the end of 2009, Robi Lambie (vocals) and Ross Stoddart (guitar) brought in university friend Garry Sands (drums) and later Iain MacLeod (bass) to complete their four-piece set up. It was always an aim not to follow guidelines and instructions when constructing a style to nestle their ears in. With influences ranging from Biffy Clyro and Fighstar to The Xcerts and Tubelord, the resulting formula was an original contrast from delicate epic-ness to upbeat pop! After a successful first 6 months gigging round their native Scotland, Aspen Tide have received praise from fans and journalists alike:
“...like a rollercoaster in that it climbs to the heights then drops back only to climb even higher...super all round” Dead Earnest review, 2010.
“…a welcome surprise, a bastard amalgamation of sound” Ark Mag Glasgow review, 2010.
Their debut single ‘Lions’ was released digitally on Dec 1st 2010 and physically on January 17th 2011. It has received great reviews as well as national airplay on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing in Scotland show.
Aspen Tide have supported some great bands in the last year such as Don Broco (England), Call Me Ishmael (Scotland), MakethisRelate (Scotland) and Another Option (USA). Such has been the demand for this band that they have played Glasgow's King Tut's Wah Wah Hut, have an upcoming show at O2 ABC2 in May and Scottish tour at the start of June - Aspen Tide are clearly a band on the rise.
