Singer-songwriter Antoine Gratton reveals his work as a record producer on A Propos

Montreal’s Antoine Gratton is a remarkable singer-songwriter, a talented multi-instrumentalist and also the man behind many of Quebec’s recent CD releases. Winner of a Juno Award in 2007 for his album called Il était une fois dans l’Est, Gratton is a coveted and very successful record producer, musician and arranger. He is Jim Corcoran’s guest on A Propos this week.
Gratton’s musical skills are large and inclusive. He's a great pianist, an impressive singer but also a multi-intrumentalist who is sought after for his orchestral arrangements. This week on A Propos, he presents songs from some of the many great records he has produced here in Quebec, recently.

Bio
A citizen of the world, this artist who defies categorization is interested in all forms of music and draws on the best of each one to create eclectic, distinctive pop limited only by his imagination. For instance, it was he who created the arrangements for the very first rock concert presented by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra.
In 2011, A*STAR brought down the house with an incredible performance in Hollywood, California, during the MUSEXPO international conference. Decision makers from the entertainment industry, the hardest people to impress, are still talking about it.
It was after this performance that the artistic collaboration between A*STAR and the renowned songwriter, producer and DJ Lone Lebone (Coolio, SoShy) was born. Writing sessions took place in the music capitals of Miami, Los Angeles and Paris, and resulted in the songs of A*STAR IS MY NAME, his first English album. Mixed in Los Angeles by Andros Rodriguez (Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Shakira) and mastered in New York by Chris Gehringer (Madonna, Rihanna, Kelly Clackson, Jason Mraz), the album was released in September 2013.
