ASTEROX

Songwriters Roland Moore (Rhythm Guitar) and Ian Hinde (Lead Vocals) got together in 2009 with bass player The Mighty Norseman as the nucleus of Asterox. Their vision was a band with a unique slant, not choosing one influence at the expense of others but fusing many things into a slightly different whole. They added drummer Gordon MacKay, a man who cut his teeth on the the Manchester scene and on a few Peel Session on Radio 1. The Asterox line up was completed last year with the addition of lead guitar player Bill Scobie whose varied playing varies from Spanish to Surf to balls-out rock soloing.
Singer Ian Hinde was asked recently about the band’s history and how to describe their music. “For two years we have been writing and fine tuning our own brand of all-original rock-fuelled songs. I can’t deny we've all been around the block a few times and absorbed many influences on the way, but essentially, to describe our sound, well, we sound like ASTEROX!”
