Bio
Paris, winter 2004.Aswefall is born spawn by the encounter between Clément Vaché’s southern electronic spirit and Léo Helldèn’s passion for chiselled pop.
Their Kill the Dj debut bleed. Showcases their respective musical souls against a backdrop of teenage angst. Folk songwriting, new wave basslines and instrumental interludes are the main staples of this racy and relentless opus.
The southern hemisphere is embodied by Clément Vaché. Killthedj vinyl spinner, record dealer supreme within his daphonics shop and head honcho of the tropism record label, he remains a true activist of the French underground.
On the northern tip, Helldén is an acknowledged producer involved in projects ranging from Jay Jay Johanson to Alex Kid and made his first cold appearance on producing duties for Véo Véo.
Supported by their roots, they combine their musical strengths in an exploration of past scars but one deridded of any heavy nostalgia. Turning down passeism they try and get us to feel again the lightness, utopy and mindlessness of our sweet sixteens.
Pop rock harmonies, folk imprints and melancolic electro reminders make the web of this celebration of the age of confusion.
Aswefall stands out as a release free of any modern contingencies. Remote from dancefloor’s diktats and instant hypes. It features several talented guests including Daniela D’Ambrosio (from Nouvelle Vague), Tim Keagan (departure lounge), Climbé, Romain Voilleau and edo a promising Parisian songwriter.
