At Sea

At Sea

 Brooklyn, New York, USA

Electro flashes, big guitars, sprawling, epic songs. That speechless, awestruck thrill ride that you go on when a piece of music seems to hone in on that point in your chest and just plays right into it—that's AT SEA.

A new “official” At Sea bio will be here soon. In the meantime:

At Sea is Jason Brody, Dario Ciccioni, and Eiko Peck.

Jason and Eiko met several years ago when Jason filled in on guitar in Eiko’s old band, Benzos, on a tour that took them to SXSW, Miami Winter Music Conference, and many strange American points in between. Jason and Eiko bonded when they were accidentally stranded together in Miami for two and a half days by their bandmates.

Dario and Jason were introduced when At Sea’s previous drummer was called away due to other obligations. They tried to connect for several months to no avail. Finally on a cold day in December 2013, they met up for coffee in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and bonded over their love of bands like Birds of Tokyo and oddball prog and glam rock, and knew they should be playing together.

After attending a Nine Inch Nails concert together, Jason and Dario decided to push At Sea’s live show into more visual territory, and the band now incorporates lighting and projected visuals into their shows.

They released their first EP in 2009 via Soap Media, and their first full-length album, A New Machine was released via Sony/RED/Creative Entertainment Network in September 2012 . ANM was a featured iTunes pick the week it came out, and went on to receive lots of kind praise from music press people with excellent taste (see BUZZ page for more).

In June 2014, At Sea licensed its cover of Nirvana’s “Something in the Way” to Sony Playstation for use in the video game trailer for “The Last of Us: Remastered.” The trailer has received over 4 million YouTube views and has led people across the globe to At Sea and their music.

As of spring 2015, At Sea is playing local shows while they work on their follow-up to A New Machine.

At Sea is currently represented by With Lions Productions for sync licensing.

AT SEA put out the full-length album A NEW MACHINE via CEN/RED Distribution on September 25, 2012. The week of release it was named as a "New and Noteworthy" pick on iTunes in the Alternative genre. It has and continues to garner great reviews (see press page).

Before that, RED distributed a series of extended two-song digital singles from AT SEA via iTunes and other online outlets:
"Everything Looks Better in the Dark" released on 8/23/11
"Something in the Way" released on 9/20/11
"Burning in His Skin" released in November 2011

AT SEA released its debut EP in the fall of 2009. It is streaming at, on Facebook, here on Sonicbids, and on various other fansites.

Current live tracks are also streaming.

The video for the song "Low Light" (on the 2009 self-titled EP) is streaming on YouTube and in HD on Vimeo.
