Bio
Katie is a singer/songwriter from rural Virginia, her roots running deep in the grasses of Virginia's beautiful horse country. Katie's music is a blend of folk and sultry, mellow pop. She is an award winning pianist, with honors from the National Federation of Music; an accomplished guitarist, once named Musician Laureate of Girl's State of the American Legion; and vocalist, with extensive experience in choral music, with honors from the State of Virginia's Senior Honor's Choir, and Virginia Governor's School.
Katie's current fanbase is located in Northern Virginia and is growing! She also has a considerable online fanbase through Broadjam, Facebook, iTunes, and Jango. Her song, "Do Without" has been in the TOP 10 on Broadjam twice for "Contemporary Folk" and for "Ages 37-50". Katie is on tour this Summer at locations all over the Northern Virginia and Washington, DC area including the Reston Festival in Virginia.
Katie is a versatile and independent songwriter with a repertoire that includes folk, blues, and pop reflecting her heritage and vision. Before undertaking a career in music, Katie was a career foreign service officer. She served in Washington, DC and in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
