Hot on the heels of her debut album, Religitics, Atia Evans is set to release the highly anticipated sophomore album, Hi Def, this summer on the twenty third of August.
Today the term "Hi Def" is an abbreviation for high definition, which describes a concise, exact display that sets the boundaries or limits of a subject matter. Atia's new album holds true to this ideal. Its lyrical content is so precise and pure that it raises the standard for emcees in the Christian community as well as those in the secular arena. The new Album, Hi Def, is a deeper, more involved look into Atia’s life. Where the first album presented the steps and trials that she faced in order to come to the Lord, this second album shares her everyday experiences as a Christian Woman facing the World. It is synonymous of a prayer placed at the alter before God.
Atia has quickly established herself as one of the most undeniable emcees to enter the musical arena in the last year. Her unique style of self revelation regarding her own journey to Christ has not only captivated audiences but has also compelled many to realize their salvation by analyzing their own spiritual walks. “The public response to my first album was so electrifying that it kind of overwhelmed me. I wanted to wait and let my music ‘soak in’ but I felt that God was speaking to me through my listeners and fans and it motivated me. I felt so inspired that I prayed and asked God to take control of all of my creative energy and he blessed me with an overflow of fresh, vibrant music. Hi Def is the product of all of that commendable praise coupled with God’s approval.”
Following God's lead and turning a blind eye to the "popularity contest" that Hip Hop has become has enabled Atia to evolve into a featured artist not only in the Cincinnati area, but world wide via the internet and radio. "Like Marvin said I gotta make a statement/ Convince the people before they hit the pavement/ I ain't makin’ money just for the engagement/ I’m tryin’ to build an army for the arraignment/ I’m drownin’ non believers, like a wave kid/ I guess they’ll start believing me once that age hit!” With verses like this one from the track entitled,” Attitude,” we understand that Atia's true purpose is to change lives for Christ not gather kudos and accreditations. This new project is sure to fortify her place in not only the Hip Hop community, but history as a true emcee. It is truly a well structured Hip Hop masterpiece blessed of the Lord.

Atia Evans’ Bio
Throughout the years hip hop has evolved from a mere musical style into a culture that represents all people. Unfortunately in it's evolution the True pioneers of the music, the Emcee, are now an endangered species and have been replaced by talent-less hacks and flashy gimmicks. With the introduction of Atia Evans, real Hip hop has added one more True Emcee to the list and begun it's rebirth.
Atia was born in Ohio to Pastor George Evans and his wife Sandra. At a very young age she developed an uncanny ability to develop complicated rhyme schemes in the form of poetry. Spending countless hours in her notebook she honed her skills and perfected them. Shortly there after she was introduced to Hip Hop and a spark would soon give way to a fire in her soul.
Atia also found growth in her father's ministry. The constant relocation allowed her to experience life in various parts of the country. These events added multiple dimensions to her writing, giving it wisdom and character. It also enabled her to witness alternate musical styles which she could incorporate in her own identity as a Hip Hop artist. However, being the daughter of responsible parents, who are also devout Christians did prove to be an obstacle. They didn't want "worldly" music to corrupt Atia's spirit.
Atia wouldn't be denied, her pursuit got stronger. If she wasn't writing her own lyrics she was desperately seeking new music and true artists to satisfy her Hip Hop jones. She began freestylin' whenever she could find a circle of emcees and performing at parties in high school for fun. High school was fun, but college was explosive. Stakes were higher and fun became wreckin' the mic for money and bragging rights.
After graduation she returned to her parent's home in Cincinnati and found a job teaching, but she felt lost. Atia joined her father's church, Greater Harvest, and was born again in Christ. Her desire for music returned, stronger then ever, and now that she had found GOD, the combination couldn't fail. It was time to make a crucial impact in Hip Hop and dispel the Myths that "rappers" have given to the Hip Hop culture. Now the true Hip Hop Emcee is Born Again.
