Jerald Hopgood p.k.a Anonymous, is a hip-hop artist from the West Side of Atlanta, Ga. He comes from a single parent home where his mother taught him the value of life’s lessons and the importance of morale’s. His passion for rap began at the tender age of 10 when he began listening to artists like Outcast and the rest of the Dungeon family. Rap became a way to express the way he felt about life and the struggles he had to face. . He performed his first open mic at the age of 17 at” Queen City” in Atlanta. This was his chance to flow a little and get some performance exposure. He also performed at Club Ritz for a private party. He is a very versatile artist who not only writes his own music but does some production as well. Poetry, books and music became his life. His ability to write poetry about his life experiences and his hopes and dreams allows him to also be a songwriter in other genres such as R&B and pop. He has always rapped for the feeling it gives him and the way people move when he says something crunk or the way people pay attention when he spits something that is on an intellectual level. He has focused on creating a way to sound different from other artists and stand out and be noticed.
He recently finished his demo and is in the studio everyday working on his up coming album. This 21-year-old phenomenon has been recording and performing for the last four years. His current project reflects his experiences and the tribulations he’s been through. He is currently doing showcases throughout Atlanta as well as performing with other artist to hone his skills as a performing artist. He plans on not only creating an opportunity for him, but also for others who have the same drive and determination. With the talent and determination that he posses, there is no turning back or giving up. He is destined to leave his mark on the world. His influences are Outkast, Ludacris, Tupac, Jay Z and Lil’ Wayne. His main goal is to continue to keep growing and mastering the art of expression through rap. He is destined for greatness.
