Who would have thought that a few sessions in early 2009 would have led to this! What a year it has been.
From the outset it was apparent that the now 5 members of Atmosphreak had meshed to find a chillingly fresh and unique sound. Everyone feeling very much at home musically, the vision and direction of the band has been on autopilot ever since. The bands chemistry seems second nature and the songs feel as though they have written themselves.
The 5 seasoned musicians all had previous successful projects. When Mobile, AL caught wind that they had been experimenting together and then caught a glimpse of what they were up to, momentum started to snowball. Within a few months Atmosphreak was a regular on the local scene, playing festivals and polishing the astrophunkphonic sound they had discovered. By the end of 2009 Atmosphreak had performed shows with the likes of Col. Bruce Hampton, The Jimmie Herring Band, Hill Country Review and a Halloween gig with Galactic.
Needless to say, the band is even more excited about 2010.
Rooted in vintage psychedelia and hard-hitting earth-style rock&roll, Atmosphreak transports audiences to superphonic realms far beyond any identifiable genre. Innovative, fun, well-crafted, intelligent and distinctly far-out. Prepare your venue for lift off as we boogie woogie on your brain.
