Atomic Lucy is a combination of high energy, seductive rock sound, and infectious pop melodies. Imagine melodic multi-influenced pop songs, a direct solid rock style, three visionary musicians pushing the parameters of a rock trio, and you will discover why Atomic Lucy is a premier band in the ever evolving San Francisco music scene.
Formed in 1998 when Quentin Eckman (vocals and bass) joined musical forces with brothers, Chuck Will (drums) and Ken Will (guitar), Atomic Lucy has weathered band name changes, studio closures, a self-produced full length debut release (Super Genius, 2001), a follow up EP (Two Trick Pony, 2003), and other musical tribulations. Six years later the line-up and quest remain the same, but their music continues to evolve.
Recently Atomic Lucy completed a three song self-entitled CD produced by Dave Tweedie and Stephen Bradley of Chocolate O’Brian Productions. Atomic Lucy combines vibrant songwriting, energetic performances, and professional production to create songs that are authentic and accessible to listeners. Their music is reminiscent of early "The Police" pop tunes, laced with the eclectic rock delivery of "Sublime", and peppered with 80’s alt-pop. Atomic Lucy’s current material is multi-layered, innovative, yet familiar to a variety of listeners.
Propelled by the solid rhythm foundation of Chuck Will and Quentin Eckman, Atomic Lucy is energetic and explosive live. Eckman’s energetic and eclectic bass line fueled by Will’s powerhouse drum prowess cut a smooth curve of separation to Ken Will’s melodic lead guitar showmanship. Eckman’s lead vocals combined with catchy, yet innovative songwriting/lyrics help to weave an inventive and carefree live performance. Past proving grounds include Blake’s on Telegraph, Bottom of the Hill, and other Bay Area venues where they demonstrated their own blend of raw performance and instrumental talent.
Atomic Lucy strives to create songs and set goals that are an honest reflection of their musical evolution. Foremost is the attitude and philosophy that their music be entertaining, energetic, and fun for audiences.
