Atomic Violet

Atomic Violet

BandAlternativeRock

An alternative rock group based out of New Jersey with a sweeping range of emotions and catchy melodies.

Biography

An alternative rock band based out of New Jersey, Atomic Violet formed in early 2004. Principal songwriter and frontman Joe Sasarak, along with cousin Matt Salomon, took up guitar in high school. Jamming in Joe's parents' house in the early nineties, they cultivated a sound rich in melody and emotion.

After years of playing solo, Joe first asked Matt's sister Rae to start Alabaster. Over a bottle of red wine in Venice, Italy, they agreed there was no plan B. Rock music was their passion and their future. Rae, who has six years of guitar training, now lays down the deep, infectious bass hooks. Matt was invited into the mix and quickly accepted.

Joe met Sharon Pimentel in 2001 and the two quickly became friends. When it came time to find someone who could hold down the percussion, Sharon was without a doubt Joe's first choice. Matt and Rae agreed she was the only one to pound out Alabaster's intense rhythms.

It has been a crazy ride for Alabaster and it is just the beginning.

Lyrics

Less than Perfect

Written By: Alabaster

where are you now
you loved me then
where are you now
i'll just pretend
i'll sell my soul
so that i can live again

you and me
we're nothing less than perfect
meant to be
we're nothing less than perfect

i'll settle down with you and then
kids house a dog a job no friends
a perfect hollow
white picket fence

you and me
we're nothing less than perfect
meant to be
we're nothing less than perfect

all at once or not all
second bills cracks in the wall
always were a know it all
won't be there to break your fall
never wanted to play that game
understand what i'm trying to say

you and me
we're nothing less than perfect
meant to be
we're nothing less than perfect

The View from There

Written By: Alabaster

what did you see on halloween?
miss turpentine our beauty queen
the smallest price to ever pay
to never age just stay that way

where were you?
when i was here

there's no room for second place
the line between what you can fake
watch you burn without a care
so how's the view from there?

going down just for the magazine
you don't lie but we deceive
come and play this masquerade
so afraid of yesterday

i'll teach you how
to bleed
to me

do you want to die?
i don't want to die
