"SpaceXSW Potluck & Music"

The Space community is a progressive and growing artist /philanthropic movement that is taking Dallas by storm. Come and Join Aton, Listener Project and Two Men & a Machine, as we celebrate the first annual "Space by southwest" Potluck and music festival. Stop by the Video Area so you can be in Aton's next video" Pray". We will be filming parts of the next social consciousness piece by Hal Samples, David Willingham and Aton. Hal Samples will MC this event. Space is the brain child of the photographer/Filmmaker Hal Samples. Hal samples directed "We Are All", a music video for Aton in August 2007. This video can be found along with a documentary about Hal's socially conscious approach to music video production, on Aton's Debut album "REUNIFY." Samples directorial debut was featured in Spin magazine early Summer 2007, for his work on the polyphonic Spree video "Running Away." Hal Samples has been watering the seeds of the next generation of artist in Deep Ellum for the past several years. Space facilitates art projects that raise social awareness. Space allows a community of musicians, Poets, artist, Photographers, etc... the chance to express their art in collaborative way that sheds light on the shadows of our "Society". A shadow being a region of darkness where light is blocked. It occupies all of the "SPACE" behind an opaque object with light in front of it. The shadow is a reverse projection of the object blocking the light." "Be the Light that burns bright in the sky you don't need a ladder if you know how to fly, Dig it" Doors are at 7pm.
