(Attacking Frequencies before changing name from INDU)Boston's Dead O'Brien's 1/2/03
...The next band, Indu, is channeling their anger through a much more technical filter. Much talk of their musical prowess circulates through the room before they even begin their set. With a lead singer/bassist resembling the illegitimate son of Cliff Burton and Dave Mustaine (musically as well as appearance), this power trio are trouncing the appreciative O'Brien's audience with a sludgy barrage of technical compositions dripping with the misery and confusion of a world poised on the brink of war. The elegance and arrogance of their surgically precise musical expedition invokes such greats as Sabbath, King's X, Dream Theatre and a slew of other bands beyond my word limit. They're a group that's rewarding the room for paying attention. Almost trance-like in its complexity, Indu's music takes me through a sonic techno-thrash-metal labyrinth leading to catharsis. If this band were a car, it would be an M-1 Abrahms tank.

Bio
Attacking Frequencies is an aggressive Boston counter metal trio with a funk-fueled groove and a progressive rock edge. AF's mix of dark and eclectic musical styles has earned them respect among the Boston rock community. The unique guitar sound which has become their trademark is the result of Mario Puente's self taught legato style of metal and atomic blues, which never includes a pick. The hardcore vocals and angry wall of bass come from Paul Morrison, the man who often provides the anchor point for the band’s musical pyrotechnics. Drummer Tom Lorusso’s amazing, technically exact hammering allows the band to achieve the progressive slant that makes their sound so eclectic.
With the release of “Borrow Your Barrels,” Attacking Frequencies’s repertoire includes a wide range of original music spanning many genres—from jazz to blues to funk to all out full barrage heavy metal. AF’s future is bright as word continues to spread about the ferocity and intensity of their live show.
