Bio

The Eristics of Bellicose have been working together, and individually or in other groups, on and off since 1998. Even then, both artists had already established names for themselves in the New Mexico hip hop scene. They have worked or performed with acts such as Sage Francis, AdeEm, Living Legends, Anticon, Shape Shifters, Zion I, Binary Star, and The CunninLynguists, amongst others. In 2001, Ulterior Motive left New Mexico and headed for the Bay Area, where he met and worked with many different underground hip hop artists, both as a producer and as a rapper. When he returned to New Mexico, he found that Lyrical Gunslingar had been building a strong local scene, but was feeling disillusioned with the politics of that scene. The two artists talked about doing a song, which turned out to be a very strong recombination. It was clear that the chemistry and charisma that these two had when they performed together was not an every day occurrence. They have each been in several other groups, including The Azimuth, Ancient Aliens of Arakis, Undermind, Skill Crafted, Seven Dollar Prozac, and an almost countless number of others. They also remain active as solo artists and with side projects, but feel strongly that The Eristics of Bellicose is a very special and unique experience, enjoyed, not only by hip hop fans, but music lovers of differing tastes.
