SOUL TO SHUFFLE is AUDERGANG’s new album, released in December 2011. Auder Jr., (lead guitar and vocals), Marcelo Álvares (drums), Marcus Marangon (bass) and Osmar Souza (harmonica) are AUDERGANG, which has become one of the greatest names in Brazilian blues rock scenario, playing along with world famous musicians like Johnny Winter, Mark Farner (Grand Funk Railroad), Celso Blues Boy and Paul Nelson.
SOUL TO SHUFFLE shows blues at its best, in a unique style characterized by the rock n’ roll foundation that has influenced the band members.
The new album is filled with incredible songs, great lyrics and well chosen tunes, executed in stunning performances, compared to the best of the genre.
Every track has its own soul, from Texas style SUNSHINE BLUES, SOUL TO SHUFFLE and RT (instrumental), to traditional Chicago blues YOUR EYES ENCHANTED ME and QUEEN OF THE GODDESSES. I CAN'T QUIT THE BLUES is a minor blues ballad. HOLD ON is a folk-acoustic ballad, while DEEP WATER has a soul groove. The band’s hard rock influence can be heard in GOT TO TELL. IMPRESSIONS, another instrumental song, relates to Paris Texas soundtrack by American guitar master Ry Cooder. Last but not least, the jazzy MUSIC IS THE ONLY WAY, with its intense rock style guitar solo.
Auder Jr. has graduated from the Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais (UEMG) and post graduated from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG), two of the most prestigious and respected universities in Brazil. He has formed and played in several bands in his hometown Belo Horizonte, like Easy Rider, an important hard rock band during the 90’s that has recorded two songs for Rede Globo’s soap operas soundtracks. He has been interviewed by specialized magazines like Guitar Player (Oct. 2008). In 1993 he released the album BACK TO OLD ROAD (EASY RIDER). His first solo album was released in 2007: MUSIC IS THE ONLY WAY. Two years later, in his first attempt in impressionist music, he released Chôra (guitar and lute). He has also written soundtracks for theatrical plays and participated in the production, recording and composition of Artorquatro (by Antônio Quinet – RJ), nominated Best Soundtrack in 2006 Shell Awards, and Oidipous, Filho de Laios (by Antonio Quinet, SP and RJ). He appeared on national television, TV shows such as Domingão do Faustão, Video Show (Easy Rider) and Viação Cipó (solo).
