Bio
Melbourne-based outfit Audiac have history in Dunedin and London, but it wasn’t until Andrew Schraa moved to Melbourne that the band began to take shape. Andrew (guitar, vocals) met guitarist Nic Pallett and together they conceived a band that went on to tour their debut album ‘No Come Down’ around Australia and New Zealand in 2008. Adding members Malcolm McMahon (drums, guitars and keyboards) and Michael “I’m just the bass player” Christian on bass. No Come Down has been described as ‘a three car musical pile up involving the Dunedin sound, Oz rock, and '90s Brit rock’ and ’super catchy pop with genuine inspiration’ and ‘No Come Down features ten fuzz pop songs that recall some of the more impressive underground U.S.-based guitar bands from the mid- to late-1990s.’
In 2009 they recorded ‘el Toroloco’ at Hothouse studios in St Kilda. The album moves on from their debut in that it embraces technology without losing the essence of their original sound. The brief was make a record that used the studio rather than be limited by the live arena. Whereas, No Come Down was minimal ‘el Toroloco’ is expansive. Highlights include ‘Light Years Away’, ‘If you were ever meant to be there’ and ‘No Feelings’
