"Audie Blaylock Adds Another IBMA Award To List of Honors"

BLUEGRASS ARTIST AUDIE BLAYLOCK ADDS ANOTHER IBMA AWARD TO LIST OF HONORS

NASHVILLE, TENN. (October 9, 2007)— On Thursday, October 4th, bluegrass artist Audie Blaylock added another IBMA award to his existing list of honors as Rounder recording artists Michael Cleveland and Flamekeeper featuring Audie Blaylock brought home the 2007 Instrumental Group of the Year award at the 18th Annual International Bluegrass Music Awards show held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.

"I’m extremely honored to receive the award that so many prestigious and talented musicians have been nominated for and received in the past. This is a great honor for myself and the entire group," said Audie Blaylock. “This is particularly humbling when you consider the caliber of the past recipients such as Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Nickel Creek, Del McCoury and others,” he adds.

Blaylock is excited about what the future holds. “We are in the process of reforming Redline and are booking dates for the remainder of 2007 and beyond,” he says. In 2005 and 2006, Audie Blaylock and Redline had the honor of being nominated for the International Bluegrass Music Association's Emerging Artist of the Year award.

Fans of Blaylock’s are looking forward to new and exciting things from him as well. Grammy award winning producer, Carl Jackson says, “Audie Blaylock is one of the most talented folks in bluegrass music today. He’s a top-notch guitarist and vocalist and I’m very pleased to know there’s a new project on the horizon. When Audie is involved, you can bet the music will be bluegrass at it’s finest.”

Audie has been performing for years with some of bluegrass music’s most distinguished acts including the great Jimmy Martin and Rhonda Vincent & The Rage as well as doing session work that earned him a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Bluegrass Album and an IBMA nomination for Recorded Event of the Year for A Tribute to Jimmy Martin: The King of Bluegrass. This group project included Audie on guitar and vocals along with a stellar lineup of musicians including former Sunny Mountain Boys J.D. Crowe, Paul Williams, and Kenny Ingram. He has also performed with the legendary Red Allen, The Lynn Morris Band and songwriting great Harley Allen. Audie is also a four-time IBMA Guitar Player of the Year nominee.

Audie Blaylock and Redline has joined the GoodStuff PR Co. family of artists that also includes Acoustic Disc Records, mandolin master David Grisman, The Pa's Fiddle Project (National Endowment for the Humanities We The People Bookshelf Honoree), bluegrass favorites The Mark Newton Band, Americana/bluegrass group The Carter Brothers including banjo player Tim Carter and rock/Americana player Danny Carter, Smithsonian Institution New Harmonies Exhibition / lllinois State Scholar Chris Vallillo and more.

PRESS RELEASE

KOCH RECORDS NASHVILLE GARNERS GRAMMY NOMINATION FOR BEST BLUEGRASS ALBUM WITH JIMMY MARTIN TRIBUTE CD

Nashville, TN - December 8, 2004 - Koch Records Nashville was honored yesterday with a Grammy nomination for Best Bluegrass Album with A Tribute To Jimmy Martin “The King Of Bluegrass.” The Grammy voters have selected this CD as one of the top five Bluegrass releases in the country.

This CD spotlights the great songs of the legendary Jimmy Martin, which made him one of the true giants in the history of music, with a stellar guest cast that includes Harry Stinson, Michael Cleveland, Jason Moore, Sonya Isaacs, Jesse Brock, and four alumni from the original Sunny Mountain Boys.

"We are excited to have A Tribute to Jimmy Martin “The King of Bluegrass” as one of the final five in the Grammy category of Best Bluegrass Album,” says Amy Murray, Marketing Manager/Bluegrass, Koch Records Nashville.

“We, along with Jimmy, are proud to have his music represented by the best in the business - former Sunny Mountain Boys themselves - Audie Blaylock, Kenny Ingram, J. D. Crowe and Paul Williams, in addition to other great sought-after bluegrass musicians who honed their skills on Jimmy's music. Ben Isaacs and Tim Dillman did a fabulous job producing this record. We're looking forward to working with them and hearing more of their work in the future," states Murray.

Jimmy Martin’s career began as a lead singer for Bill Monroe and in the opinion of many, was the finest lead singer Bill ever had. After leaving The Bluegrass Boys, Jimmy joined the Osborne Brothers. Upon leaving the Osborne’s, Jimmy formed his own band, The Sunny Mountain Boys, which has come to produce many of the best and most-noted musicians within the bluegrass genre – many of which are still touring today.

Coupling on the history of the first generation of bluegrass, Koch Records/Nashville wanted to capture the spirit of Jimmy’s music and has succeeded with A Tribute To Jimmy Martin: “The King of Bluegrass.”

"Audie Blaylock ~ Lonesome Weary Heart Review"

Anytime you get around a group of bluegrass musicians it isn't hard to find talent. I have come to learn over the past year or so that some of the best musicians play in bluegrass bands, and Audie Blaylock is no stranger to the bluegrass community. He is often referred to as one of those best musicians that I'm speaking of. With the re-formation of his band Redline and the release of their brand new single "Lonesome Weary Heart," the future is looking pretty bright. With a sound that's steeped rich in tradition with a bit of a modern kick, "Lonesome Weary Heart" will have the bluegrass world listening and buzzing about Audie taking home another IBMA award. The vocals are crisp and plucking of the banjo will have you tapping right along while the whine of the fiddle in the mid portion of the song will have you on your feet. Though an album is in the works, "Lonesome Weary Heart" is our first glimpse into what is to come and it is a safe bet that Audie Blaylock and Redline are going to be making a big impact this year if the single is any indication.

Bio

Audie Blaylock was born in El Paso, TX to musical family whose roots go back to the birthplace of early country music, the hills of Virginia and Tennessee. He learned to play guitar and sing with his parents and siblings, in Lansing, MI where he grew up.

In 1982 Audie joined the legendary Jimmy Martin and the Sunny Mountain boys. It was there that for nine years he listened, learned, honed, and perfected the musical skills passed down from one of bluegrass music’s first-generation masters.

Additionally, Audie’s driving rhythm guitar and tasteful solos have been featured as part of the internationally acclaimed, Rhonda Vincent's band,
the Rage, as well as Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper.
