"LOCAL BAND TO WATCH"

"Lively instrumental, funk-jazz ensemble with the hottest horn section in town, With its lyrical sax. flute and trumpet, ringing rhythm guitar, and inventive percussion, you can imagine the group scoring through soulful, improvisational jams in a smoky basement club." - Charlotte Observer

"Audioform"

"Equal parts Miles Daviscool, Tito Puentes heat and Tower Of Power groove, audioform has emerged in recent years as onr of Charlotte's top jazz, funk, soul acts.
....audioform specializes in long, sinuous workouts that combine styles and eras into a cohesive new whole without losing track of the rump-rolling bottom end. The overall vibe would fit in seamlessly with the late 60's-early 70's Blue Note catalouge, when susbstance was style. Its strong full length debut, Compositions, even alludes to reid Miles' classic cover art, and from the sound of these 11 cuts, that aint just wishful thinking." - Creative Loafing Charlotte

Bio

Audioform is an acid-jazz funk collective that originated in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since 2004, the band has been known for its multicultural attempt to fuse jazz, funk, and soul into a sound that is augmented by a big horn section and a groove-oriented rhythm section.

Audioform has toured constantly on the Southeast circuit of clubs and colleges. The band has performed at several regional and national festivals during its exsistence. It has continued to attract interest for its attempts to fuse the many genres that have influenced its core members.

In early 2005 the band released a DVD of a live performance at the Visulite Theater in Charlotte.
During the summer of 2006, the band traveled for a West coast tour that included performing at the prestigious Fillmore Jazz Festival. A documentary of the band's performances and tour were filmed by Director Chris Ivey and will be released on DVD in the summer of 2008.

The band released Compositions -- its first full length album -- on January 6, 2007. It will release its second and as of yet untitled new album in the March of 2009. The new album was produced and recorded by Alan Evan of Soulive.

The band will once again perform at the prestigious Fillmore Jazz festival in San Francisco in July 2008.
Audioform is unsigned and represented by booking agency Fluid Talent in Atlanta..
