Augustine is an original rock band from Central New York, which began in the summer of 2008. They have since been consistently evolving and gaining momentum, frequently playing many clubs and events in Central NY and beyond, including a couple of TV appearances.

Their modern-rock sound radiates raw passion coupled with power and is frequently described as “radio friendly”. They have a constantly evolving showmanship which is entertaining and vibrant, and includes plenty of audience interaction. Simply put, Augustine rocks!

Augustine represented Time Warner Cable in the Red Cross Corporate Battle of the Bands held at the legendary Landmark Theater in Syracuse, April 2009. They closed out the line-up of 14 bands that night bringing the nearly maximum capacity crowd to their feet. Donna Reynolds, a reporter for Syracuse.com and The Post-Standard newspaper had this to say: “From the opening notes of OCC's Onondaga Treblemakers to the final kick butt set by Time Warner's Augustine, I was thoroughly entertained.”

The final battle in the Westcott Theater’s “Big Break Battle of the Bands”, November of 2009, a review after the show from Michael K. Thomas in the Syracuse New Times stated: ‘Augustine … hit heavy with the look and feel of bands from K-Rock’s playlist…. Like those rockers, they’re trying to do something new in their musical niche in the sense they play all original music, and it actually rocks.’

Augustine has played a number of prominent shows. Some of the highlights are:
* February 2010: Opened the K-Rock show at the Westcott Theater for headliners Cold and Nonpoint; played an acoustic set for "Music for the Mission", a benefit for the Syracuse Rescue Mission, at the prestigious Crouse-Hinds Theater.

* April 2010: Opened for Tantric, twice, providing direct support in Albany and then opened again the following night at the Westcott Theater in Syracuse

* June 2010: Appeared on Scorch’s PFG-TV show: played at the annual “Taste of Syracuse” event on the Subcat Stage; and performed at a WWE Pre-Party for 95X at the Everson Plaza

* July 2010: Opened for Framing Hanley at The Lost Horizon

* August 2010: Appeared on “WCNY Connected” PBS TV (video posted: http://www.AugustineRocks.com); opened for Seasons After and 2Cents at The Lost Horizon; opened the 95X Summer Bang with Saving Abel at Papermill Island

* December 2010: Opened for Nonpoint again as they return to Syracuse with In This Moment

The momentum increases…

The Members of Augustine:
Joey: Front-man and lead vocalist for the band is Joey Dimaggio. He has a talent for writing captivating music with memorable lyrics and has a charismatic stage presence. Joey occasionally picks up a guitar also to add some rhythm and acoustic strings to a song.

Nasty Nate: Nate Hopper takes the role of lead guitar and also provides backup vocals. This naturally gifted, young musician has been given the moniker of “Nasty Nate” by fellow musicians for his burning guitar solos.

JC: Joe Culotti is the man on the drums. Joe is also fairly young yet displays a style and technique that you typically see only from veteran drummers. He brings a new dynamic to Augustine's music that is second to none.

Rob: Helping Joe C carry the rhythm is Rob Fehrman, laying down the smack on the bass to keep Augustine rockin' along.

Leila: The stunning Leila Dean has joined Augustine, with her hauntingly seductive violin sounds and beautiful backup vocals. She brings Augustine up to a whole new level.
