Formed in late 2006, August Redemption have been working hard to get their name and music out. Originally starting as a 3 piece band with Luke on the drums and Dave taking care of both guitar and vocal duties. Dave and Luke started writing material immediately as well as playing some of their favourite songs. The band went through many lineup changes until they settled on a lineup in mid-2008, which saw Luke take over rhythm guitar duties, Daz taking over drums, Gav handling bass and introducing Glenn on lead guitar. Dave stuck with vocals.
Having members of all different backgrounds and influences has really defined August Redemption's sound. The sound itself is an old school hard rock sound really driving on the blues influence with almost metallic deliverance and tightness. The live shows have been described as "a fascinating, energetic performance with an extremely charismatic frontman".
August Redemption are currently unsigned but are still hard at work to put Cairns out there and show what they can do. Only the future can tell what is in it for these boys.
