AURORA GADBURY

BandAmericanaAcoustic

The Pink Williams Band, founded by singer-songwriter Aurora Gadbury, features Jimmy Eaton on Pedal Steel. Performing orignals, and some covers, in the acoustic/americana/alternative country tradition --TPWB has a wide audience appeal. It's all about the music...

Biography

Influenced by the likes of Emmylou Harris, Johnny Cash, Neil Young, and many others -- the songs I write tell stories about people and situations around me. Sometimes they're mixed together, sometimes the identities are changed to protect the innocent -- and not-so-innocent (I've always been a believer that the pen is mightier than the sword). The songs have a tendency to write themselves, and most people usually find something there that they can take away with them. When that happens, I know I've done by job...

BABY BLUES

Written By: AURORA GADBURY

Well, Baby's in the kitchen, and he's 4-ft tall
Last time I looked he was crawlin' on the floor
Yeah, my Baby's gettin' bigger
Yeah, my Baby's growin' up
Well, it won't be long before he ain't a baby no more

Well, he's losin' his teeth
And he's cookin' his eggs
Does his own laundry
Loves to play, play, play
Yeah, my Baby's gettin' bigger
Yeah, my Baby's growin' up
Well, it won't be long before he ain't a baby no more

It won't be long before he's askin' for money for gas
Stealin' my car keys and stayin' out all night with his friends
Rue the day when he turns and says... "Mama did you see that girl?"
Oh, hell!
Won't be long before he ain't a baby no more.

Well, I tuck him in bed
And I ruffle his curls
Kiss his cheek
And I thank the Lord, that
My Baby's gettin' bigger
Yeah, my Baby's growin' up

Well, Darlin' you can be 10-feet tall
But, Honey I will always be your Mom
...And you will always be my Baby...

Yeah!

SO I'LL RUN

Written By: AURORA GADBURY

TELL ME IT'S JUST THE WIND IN MY EYES
FEET HAVEN'T TOUCHED THE GROUND
'FRAID I MIGHT STUMBLE
DON'T LIKE TO FALL
THINK THAT I'M GETTING SCARED

STAY WHERE YOU ARE
AIN'T MY TURN TO BLEED
THINK THAT I'M WALKING A FINE LINE
YOU TOLD ME ONCE
IT'S BEST JUST TO WALK
AWAY WHILE YOU STILL CAN
SO I'LL RUN

THINK THAT THIS TIME
I WILL STAND MY GROUND
IT'S EASIER THAN TO STAND THE PAIN
SO I'LL RUN

LIGHTNING STRUCK TWICE
MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT
THINK THAT I'M WALKING A FINE LINE
RUNAWAY FREIGHT TRAIN
I'LL JUMP THE TRACKS
FIND MYSELF RUNNING
HEADLONG
INTO YOUR ARMS

WISH THAT THIS TIME
I COULD STAND MY GROUND
THE FLESH IS WILLING
BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK

SO I'LL RUN

SLEEPING WITH THE ASH

Written By: AURORA GADBURY

YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE
I DON'T MISS YOU ANY LESS
WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES
I'M LEFT SLEEPING WITH THE ASH

WHEN YOU LOOK UP AT THE STARS
IF YOU'RE SOBER ENOUGH
SEE THE TWINKLE IN MY EYES
THAT WAS STOLEN THE NIGHT
YOU LEFT

TRIED TO BREATHE BUT MY MOUTH FILLED WITH SAND
EVERYTHING I TASTE
TURNS TO DUST
CAN'T REMEMBER WHERE I'VE BEEN THESE DAYS
EVERYTHING I TOUCH
TURNS TO RUST IN MY HANDS

YOU DON'T LOVE ME ANYMORE
I DON'T MISS YOU ANY LESS
WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES
I'M LEFT SLEEPING WITH THE PAST
WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES...
... I'M LEFT SLEEPING WITH THE ASH
