Bio

Inspired by melody and driven by story, Nashville based singer/songwriter Austin Adams looks at music as an opportunity to connect the dots. Sharing and singing songs that strike at the heart of life and everything that comes with it isn’t something original, but something essential. On a basic human level, we’re all dealing with the same up’s and down’s. Austin’s hope is that his music can serve as a way to prove that we’re not as different as we once thought.

Originally from Atlanta GA, Austin’s musical interest started at an early age. His father, part of the Atlanta music scene during the late 60’s and 70‘s, worked as a talent agent and grew his small booking agency into both an international artist promotion/recording studio and record company. He encouraged Austin and his sister Angela to pursue music at a young age. Growing up playing in church and with his friends, Austin’s interest in music began to grow. It was during this time that Austin started writing melodies and lyrics. However, it wasn’t until his move to Nashville in 2006 that he really started to sharpen and shape his ability as a songwriter and performer.

At first, Austin really didn’t consider a career in the music industry as a singer/songwriter a reality. However, after finishing college, he started working tirelessly to find a sound and gather support for his newly found passion. He enlisted the help of his father to start booking him into local clubs and restaurants native to his hometown in Atlanta and in Nashville. He played as frequently as he could, wherever he could. It was during this time, Austin’s voice caught the ear of local producer Brent Milligan (Steven Curtis Chapman, David Crowder Band) who approached Austin about doing a project. The album is now set to release fall 2011.
