Austin Freeman and the Dusty Border Boys

I started this band just four months ago with one thing in mind; to bring the people of el paso and surrounding areas the best live local country music I could. We are a four price set with Jim Carlisle on lead guitar, j.c. Stewart on the bass and background vocals, Matt Marcel on the drums, and myself, Austin Freeman on lead vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar. In our short four months of being together, we have about a 60 song set we could do of mostly classic country hits from the likes of Merle haggard, waylon jennings, Johnny Cash, George strait, garth brooks, as well as some modern texas country such as Aaron watson, Kevin Fowler, and Cody Jinks. We have a few original songs we throw into the mix as well. Our recent success and seemingly impossible momentum to get us where we are today didn't come from ourselves alone. There's a ton of people that I'd love to name off individually, but there's just too many. First off, mike and Steve over at the Texas stagecoach saloon. Those guys have believed in us since day one, and have giving us not only weekly show opportunities, but they also open up the doors for us to practice there as well. Emily beardmore is another person that is responsible for us playing where we are playing as well. I met her at the cool canyon nights auditions. Although we didn't get the gig, we were offered bacon fest, balloon fest, as well as street fest.  We are definitely looking forward to that one! We also just recently played at sunland park winery and brewery last weekend, and in July 31st we will be playing at the 5 points bistro after the Sunday funday pickers circle.
