"Austin Jenckes"

"Every so often an artist compels us to stop and listen. Perhaps it’s the way they tell the story, or the way the music captures us, but the effect is immediate. Something is different, and like a moth to the flame, we are drawn in. Austin Jenckes is such an artist."

Bio

Take the poppy hooks that have re-defined "Country Music" and then imagine the "Do it Yourself" mentality of Seattle's endearing indie movement. In a in a nutshell you have Austin Jenckes.

Austin’s story started in the the rural town of Duvall, WA just outside of Seattle. Surrounded by an encouraging musical family, he began performing in coffee shops, bars and other venues. At the age of 15 he took vocal lessons from the late Maestro David Kyle who is known for coaching Seattle greats such as Chris Cornell and Layne Staley.

In late 2009 Austin went from being a solo singer/songwriter to performing with a full band. "The First Call" are Bret Darby and Robert Perez, both seasoned musicians that have performed with regional and national acts on the road and in the studio. Together, Austin Jenckes and The First Call will be releasing their first collaborative effort in January 2011.

Austin Jenckes has the ability to capture listeners and create moments in any setting. His music has been compared to the likes of Zac Brown and Marc Broussard. On any given night, you might see him on a street corner sharing stories with the locals before taking the stage. It is the experiences and stories that make Austin Jenckes something special.

Austin is endorsed by Alvarez guitars and Brace Wireless Audio Systems. He was featured at the 2010 Winter NAMM convention demonstrating the versatility of the new Fishman Aura IC in his Alvarez Fusion, and will be performing at NAMM in January 2011.
