Bio
After getting the EP "Like a Volcano" pressed and on the streets with Hollow Body Records late in 2002, Austin promptly embraced fatherhood. Momma Joanne and Little (but we call him BIG) Joe are doing great.
Meanwhile, he left some other things behind. "Scratchbook," the underground demos that made rounds around New York are now officially dead and buried. They apparently included over 75 tracks-guitar and vocal-recorded with L.A. producer Brett Rothfeld, but since the masters disappeared during a cross-country move, oh well, they're gone and it's a new year.
Austin has begun recording with NY producer Doug Kwartler one new song at a time for a full-length release. Titles include "Talk About the Pyramids," "Real Haircut," "Make Me Video," "Dog is King" and "The Artist Formerly Known as Butch." Look for it this summer. Until then, Austin will be staying close to his New York beachhome with regional appearances from Virginia to Boston, while overseeing the AcoustiChaos Music Series at the Fin Bar and Grill in E. Atlantic Beach, NY on Thursdays.-Walter Igeau
