"Son Of Kick: "EOW" F. Foreign Beggars & Virus Syndicate (Austin Millz Remix) (Prefix Premiere)"

We've heard Son of Kick's "EOW" featuring UK hip-hop and grime outfits Foreign Beggars and Virus Syndicate remixed before by Starkey (premiered right here on Prefix). We've also been treated to a few remakes of wavy hip-hop anthems (namely Dom Kennedy's "My Type of Party" and Three 6 Mafia's "Stay Fly") by NYC-based Austin Millz in the past. But today the two forces collide, resulting in a hi-hat and snare-powered explosion of bass.

New York natives can expect another invasion of EDM Trap this week with Millz performing a live set to open for MMG's Stalley at the Scholarich and The Source Magazine event at Manhattan's Tammany Hall this Thursday (Dec. 6). Click here for more details. - Prefix Mag

"V PLAYLIST: JOEY BADA$$, LUPE FIASCO, NYCHE X FRED THE GODSON X CAM'RON, JEAN GRAE, AUSTIN MILLZ X DJ SUPER NOVA"

5. Austin Millz & DJ Super Nova - "My Trap Of Party (Dom Kennedy Remix)"
This one relies solely on the beat, as Dom's original vocals are used more as a tool than a means to guide the song. Both Austin & Super Nova take Dom's original "My Type Of Party," and give it the trippy treatment. The result is definitely good on the ears. - VIBE Magazine

"Listen: Dom Kennedy "My Trap Of Party" (Austin Millz & DJ Super Nova Remix)"

There’s a new fusion that is making waves in the electronic music scene: combining qualities of trap music and re-purposing them with an EDM spin to it. The results have been pretty infectious. You couldn’t escape this past summer without hearing at least one remix from a DJ or producer.

The latest to hit the Internet is a remix of Dom Kennedy’s “My Type Of Party” from the Yellow Album. Behind it are Austin Millz and DJ Super Nova who slow things down, add a few dope gun cocks, and finish off with rapid drum claps. The two Penn State natives deliver “My Trap Of The Party,” which you can stream below. - Complex Magazine

Bio

Austin Millz is a young producer/dj from Harlem, New York. He has always been passionate about music, which spawned a desire to partake in its' creation. Armed with a PC and an impeccable ear, he taught himself how to use Fruity Loops and first began producing in his teenage years. He also proved himself to be more than digital -- as a musician he played the saxophone. Becoming serious about his craft, he then studied other audio engineering concepts during the span of middle school and high school. His first music break happened in 2006 when Loud Records/SRC A&R and legendary producer Sean. C got a hold of his music. After that, the legendary production crew Sean C. and LV then took Austin under their wing and his music has been progressing ever since.
After a short production hiatus to attend and graduate from Penn State University, Austin made his return to the production game. At the top of 2012, he released his debut instrumental beat tape, which got notoriety from the internet blogs, and influential bloggers, landing on a ton of media outlets such as Complex Magazine, The Source Magazine, You Heard That New, and HipHopWired. He even scored an international placement on UK's well respected site The Hip Hop Chronicle. Austin has secured major placements with Maybach Music Group, G.O.O.D. Music, Wale, Hit-Boy, Jim Jones and more.

Austin Mllz is positioning himself for big things both in the studio and in front of live crowds. Millz is already well known for some of the internet's biggest original remixes. Amongst his many blog features, Austin has received praise from those who's tracks he has remixed - including Foreign Beggars, Virus Syndicate and Son of Kick, and more - and rocked crowds all across the United States.

Millz is releasing projects this year, as well as many exciting remixes along the way. With more and more people taking to his music and connections being made, the possibilities for the young Harlem-bred producer are no less than limitless.
