autolyze

autolyze formed in 2009 when lead vocalist/guitarist thomas polansky and bassist scott p. mcbride, whose musical collaborative history spans over 15 years, decided their latest haitus had gone on a few days too long. generating masses of new material between a few stops and starts, they found drummer fernando silvestre in search of a new venture at just the right time. the three got to writing, playing and more playing, and so begat autolyze.

autolyze's self-described "wall of sound" envelops and vascillates, twisting paths through great epochs. part instrumental, part not, the band draws infuence from diverse sources: the rolling stones, the stone roses, radiohead, sonic youth, sunny day real estate, juno, jawbox. the band's live performances reverberate ribcages in ways only some bands can, such as my bloody valentine, jesus and mary chain, and dinosaur jr. autolyze speaks volumes at high volume.

based in philadelphia, pa, the band has played an increasing number of successful shows since their recent inception.
