Still working on that hot first release.

With a deep and rich musical backround, Josh Lamkin (a native of Tampa, Florida) picked up the guitar at age six. After a few short years of practice, the term prodigy was whispered to describe his musical progress at such a young age. As a teenager with a growing talent, and passion for the blues, Lamkin formed his first band with some friends from school. They called themselves "The Vintage Blues Band". The group went on to win countless local and statewide talent competitions. They preformed at small venues, county fairs, and local showcases, playing kicked-up blues/rock for anyone willing to listen. One of the tunes they played in their show was “No Money Down” by Chuck Berry. A friend of Lamkins started calling him “Automatic Heat” after one of the lines in that song. The nickname stuck, and "The Vintage Blues Band" became "Josh Lamkin and Automatic Heat".

Now, with over 14 years of experience, and thousands of shows under his belt, Josh Lamkin
has sharpened his skills not only as a singer/guitarist, but as an entertainer.
"He doesn't just play the blues, he feels it and it shows in most everything he does. He has the style and guitar chops to please the guitar freaks and the singing ability and personality to please the women in the audience." says Heath Helsenberger of Nightscyne Magazine in a recent article.
Lamkin is a young, bright, and gifted artist without the usual ego that often accompanies someone so talented.
Catching someone like Lamkin on their way to the top is a refreshing experience. His collective skills as a musician/entertainer make "Josh Lamkin and Automatic Heat" one of Tampa's hottest bands.
