Bio

Autumn Armor started almost two years ago after Colin Dinnie (the bassist & keys) and I were just getting out a band called, Pivotal Agenda. I have to admit Colin and I were down and out. Mackie (lead singer of Pivotal Agenda) had gotten a band van and we had just recorded a solid EP with Alan Evans of Soulive, why quit now? Well, like every band, it was complicated. It’s a reoccurring theme that Colin and I are always together back at square one, but we didn’t let it discourage us. Instead we were thankful for the fact that we still had each other and we both felt that our musical relationship was indispensable. We are a team and it shows in our playing.

So, this leaves Colin and I here in Boston. At the time we thought we needed four members to be complete, but our mentors, Soulive, gave us the influence to be a trio. Colin has known Soulive for seven years now and had opened for them, Derek Trucks, and Scofield back in high school. I had just met Alan Evans so I didn’t expect him to pay much attention to me, but Alan went above and beyond by giving us advice and ideas. He told Colin that as long as we stay together we couldn’t go wrong, because together our music can go to another place. With this positive mind frame we began thinking of who our drummer should be. I thought of Jon Reilly, my best friend and one of the first musicians I met in Boston. While I was at Berklee Jon was busy touring the United States, Europe, and Canada. Although, he was experiencing so much he wasn’t making a ton of money so I would let him crash at my place in exchange for lessons on time and rhythm. So I told Colin that Jon would be perfect and we set a date to play at my old apartment right above the Berklee bookstore. I still have the recording from that miraculous night. To this day all of us recall seeing flashes of light, similar to a camera flash, that went off in between the three of us while we were playing. And no we were not on drugs; in fact we were completely sober. All of us knew after listening back and analyzing how things felt we knew we had a sound. It was just the first time that all of us had jammed together and we were ready to take over the world.

We are currently waiting to master the rest of the record, "Patience" and then we will have a CD release party. We are planning a campaign that will get our music into the hands of at least everyone we know. We also have our EP’s for sale online at our myspace from Nimbit and we have download cards for sale @ our shows!
