The Long Way Round is the debut solo EP from singer / songwriter GJ Worthington, using the pen name Autumn Lungs.
The idea for the project was born almost 15 years ago when GJ first heard records like Tubular Bells, Pretty Hate Machine and the first Foo Fighters album which were all conceived and created by a lone musician. After years of playing various instruments in bands such as Minus One, Diffuse, Elysium, Greater Ghost, Cyanide Serenity and These Precious Days, the flame of ambition to create a completely solo effort was still burning strong, although it had been put aside to focus on bands. An obsession with the art of Justin Vernon helped to spur Autumn Lungs into existence and a heavy schedule of writing and recording soon began. The multi instrumentalism on display here is rivalled only by the studio know-how of Autumn Lungs.
The Long Way Round is available digitally from all good online music distributors and physical copies of the EP are available at gigs. It is currently being distributed via the indie label ‘one0one records’.
