Bio
The name of AVALON derives from Celtic mythology (Avalon is a legendary island famous for its beautiful apples that promise eternal youth) and this origin is clearly expressed in the songs. The different musical roots of the band members (Soul, Rhythm ’n’ Blues, Rock, Folk and Latin) led to melancholic-mystic and powerful-groovy compositions. Contrary to most other bands, AVALON decided to play own songs only and finally agreed on the musical style of “Folk-Rock”. As emphasis is laid on vocals, it was only logical to garnish the music with much singing: three lead vocalists and refrains for three voices. And last but not least, a violin as lead instrument in addition to the electric guitar completes the characteristic sound of the melodious songs
