When Avert Your Eyes had their first show at the Sokol Underground about two years ago, it was only Shawn on vocals and guitar and Ashlee on the drums. Eventually, Brejhan joined the band on bass guitar followed by Bob on lead guitar a couple months later. They write their own orginal material and have done a few covers over the years: Unwritten Law, The White Stripes, and The Used. However, they still are not sure what genre to classify themselves as, but have some aspects of punk, rock, grunge, and alternative. Also, for every show AYE draws in quite a crowd and sells their own merchandise. Currently, the band is recording their own material and looking for one gig after another.
