"Harp"

The indies might not be deeply investing in market research but each band's success seems to be a case study for big labels...such news can be empowering for music elitists. Finally, we would have a voice. We could evangelize and be responsible for getting Ted Leo on the radio. Or, we could finally get that trio from Minneapolis, Aviette signed with a label. - Julie Simmons

"Now Magazine"

Critics' Pick at NXNE - Toronto

"Pulse of the Twin Cities"

Balances the experimental with the standard to create a challenging and uniquely engaging brand of music. - Minneapolis-Saint Paul

"Indiefeed"

If you haven't heard about these guys, I have feeling you're going to hear a lot more. - Podcast

"iTunes"

One of the best bands to come from the Twin Cities. This is an amazing album and an amazing group. Compelling beats, powerful chord progressions and singer Holly Muñoz's enchanting voice combine to make an exciting, airtight album. Creative and versatile, this record is a necessary addition to any music library. - Online Review

"The Onion A.V. Club"

The songs on Until We Hear From Dave share a spookily cinematic quality, artfully arranged and often quite beautiful... - Christopher Bahn

"HowWasTheShow.com"

Combining the noisy pop of Sonic Youth with the eerie nihilism of The Cure, singer/guitarist Holly Muñoz lays down meaty Crazy Horse-like riffs while vocally ranging in style from the breathiness of the Cocteau Twins to the sharp bite of PJ Harvey. - Online Review

Bio

Playing progressive and accessible indie rock, Aviette is Minneapolis-based band made up of Holly Muñoz (guitar/vocals), Justin Hartke (bass), and Kyle Larson (drums).

Their debut record, Until We Hear From Dave was selected as one of the best records of 2006 by The Onion A.V. Club and was CMJ’s #18 ADD.

Aviette recorded their second full-length album, The Way We Met with Minneapolis-based producer Darren Jackson (Kid Dakota, The Hopefuls, Alva Star). From the driving beat of “What You Want Me To Say” to the determined optimism of “The Way We Met,” this collection of songs is consistent and thoughtfully arranged.

The Way We Met was released nationwide on July 1, 2008. Aviette celebrated their record release at the Triple Rock Social Club on June 28, 2008 with performances by The Alarmists, Kid Dakota and The Glad Version. This show was sponsored by 89.3 The Current (MPR) and Surly Brewing.

Songs from UWHFD and The Way We Met have been featured on IndieFeed and have charted at core radio stations such as KALX, WRSU and WTCC.

Aviette recently rolled into NYC on the Draw Fire Records bio-diesel bus for their showcase at the 2008 CMJ Music Marathon. Pictures of the adventure are posted at www.jennbarnett.com/cmj.
