awa sangho , is from the songhi people of mali ,, she started the group les go de koteba, with whom she toured the world stages for 18 years , they were based in abijan west africa , awa has worked with major stars of the west african circut,,--salif kieta,ray lema, omu sangare, ali farka toure, -awa has relocated to nyc were for the past 3 years she has been working with major american musicians , her debut cd will be released on motema records based in nyc harlem .
