Awaken Antagonist

Being inspired by a variety of music, Awaken Antagonist takes its main influence from recent metal genres including but not limited to: Death Metal, Metalcore, and Progressive Metal. Awaken Antagonist, from Fairbanks, Alaska, USA have gained a foot hold in the Alaska Metal Circuit playing venues across the vast state and opening for acts such as Emmure and Vanna.

Starting out as just a buddy band between Kris Larson, Tyler Martin, and Vince Lee in 2011, they wanted to start sharing their raw, energetic sound with the masses after a year of practicing together. This was the birth of “Awaken Antagonist”.

After playing several gigs in their local town, they started to venture the state and began playing Monthly gigs. They have shared the stage with local bands such as Decepticide, To the Depths, Mutual Manslaughter, 9DayFall, Old Hounds, Noise Brigade, and many more notable Alaskan bands.

In 2012 they entered Unshakable Studios under producer Jon Farmer to record their debut self-titled EP. The EP was released December 2013 and was success, selling over 100 hard copies, 200 digital copies, and over 4,000 streams of songs in the first quarter of its release.

Various lineup changes have occurred since 2012, including the departure of guitarist Vince Lee.  The final lineup, in order of appearance, includes Mark Redinius, Jesse Gill, Tyler Martin, Kris Larson, Sean Pederson
