"Apocalyptica 'seek and destroy' sceptics with 'master' set"

“Awaken Solace were the first band to hit the stage and what an amazing way to start the set. The lights went black and a solo blue light cascaded over keyboardist Robert Russell, while drummer Rodrigo Prazeres built tension with a slow rumble on the drums. And then both bass player and guitarist emerged to add to the building sound. It was a great intro but the Brisbane symphonic metal outfit made sure that rest of the show was just as good. Perhaps a little shy at first, the band quickly found their groove and it was lovely to see the smiles emerge as they began to enjoy themselves. Elspeth Johnson deserves special mention for her speedy solos and licks and the way she was able to lock in with Robert on the keytar. Maree Nipperess was pitch perfect on vocals, while Rodrigo gave a great performance on drums with his syncopated timings and dramatic facials gestures.” - Marc Stapelberg - The Northern Star

“From the packaging to the music, it’s all well done and it is obvious that Awaken Solace put a lot of hard work into this. The opener “Moonlight’s Wake” begins ominously as the kick-in and transforms this into a bouncy, up-tempo first song. The powerful second track, “Escaping the Beast” simply soars and is one of the best tracks. The power metal gallop of “Tomorrow’s Child” continues in the vein set by the previous two songs. Other highlights include: “Return to Avalon”, “Path Untaken” and “Temptress of the Desert Eye”. The second disc is an added bonus and a special treat. The songs on “In Nightfall’s Embrace” have plenty of symphonic possibilities on their own and lend themselves quite well to straight symphony versions. These versions have a magical quality to them and to hear them done with the vocals sounds very natural. If you love symphonic metal tinged with cinematic score type of music, than “In Nightfall’s Embrace” by Awaken Solace” - Femme Metal Webzine

"Awaken Solace - 'In Nightfall's Embrace' Album Review"

“Awaken Solace has truly put Australia on the Symphonic, Operatic Goth map. They take a back seat to no one. This is groundbreaking material; this takes us to a new level. I've had the material for several weeks now, I'm still getting orientated to it, expect the same experience. This is not causal listening, this is intense material, solidly developed, expertly presented. I can't think of a better way to spend 140 minutes... it's a solid 10/10.” - Sonic Cathedral

"Awaken Solace - In Nightfall's Embrace Album Review"

"From out of nowhere this unknown band from the most unlikely of places have released an album that will have symphonic metal fans in a state of fevered excitement. All I can say is kidnap them, stick them on a plane, launch them on the unsuspecting symphonic power houses of Europe, and then let them take the world by storm. The time of awakening has arrived so prepare for the symphonic thunder from down under" - Ravenheart Music

In Nightfall's Embrace, June 2012 (Album)
MYTHANDRIEL, 2017 (ALBUM) - release date set and to be announced soon...

Feeling a bit camera shy

Combining a brooding fusion of melancholic beauty and intensely orchestrated metal, Awaken Solace return in 2017 with their second full-length album ‘MYTHANDRIEL’. The album comprises of 13 fantasy soundtracks featuring a live choir and orchestral arrangements that complement the band’s female-fronted metal line-up.

Having already shared the stage with international heavy weights such as Apocalyptica (twice), Kamelot and Queensrÿche, the band have quickly become a popular choice to support some of the world’s most acclaimed symphonic and power metal touring acts.

Upon the release of their debut album ‘In Nightfall’s Embrace’, the band received attention throughout the underground metal scene the world over, placing them amongst the head of the Australian female-fronted metal scene and landing them a national distribution deal with Green Media | MGM Distribution.

Taking no shortcuts in its writing or production, MYTHANDRIEL is set to surpass their first release.
