Awake the Night formed in Bridgeport, Ohio during the Spring of 2011. The band’s members are Michael V. Hall (Vocals/Guitar), Chris Kidd (Guitar) Travis Hudson (Bass) and Farley Minor (Drums). Best described as a bridge between hard rock and metal, the band is heavily influenced by groups like Black Sabbath, Exodus, Metallica and Pantera, though the band’s individual musical interests are quite diverse.
Awake the Night combines original music and a few covers in each set, so they began playing live dates shortly after formation. In Fall 2011, two original songs were recorded at Sacred Sound Studio in Martin’s Ferry, Ohio and can be heard on the band’s website. Another eight tracks are set to be recorded in Spring 2012.
The band’s recordings may also be heard on the High Voltage Rock n Roll Show, the Metal Kulture Radio show "Nightmares with Malice Cooper", Hard Rock Radio Live, Rockstars Glued, and Rock Addict Radio. Rockstars Glued interviewed the band on the air after AtN won a “Pick Your Band Challenge” in December 2011.
