Award Winning Mixologist Johnny G

His profeessional career as a Mixologist began in the mid-70's in a place called 'The Valley', his home-town for some 45 years, located in the North-East section of the Bronx. At the age of 15, The Stardust Ballroom became his 1st home ever, and he's been 'off and runnin' ever since. Performing with such notable acts as Blue Magic, The Delfonics, GQ, Melba Moore, Unlimited Touch, Grand Master Flash, Jocelyn Brown, First Choice, Love Bug Starski, DJ Hollywood, Mary J Blige, Chic, and many more, were routine in a pre-hip-hop era that truley exposed the best and separated them from the rest. Upon entering my freshman year of college back in 1978, I was named co-musical director for the 1st Annual Shaw University Heritage Festival held in Raleigh, N.C., hosted by football and film legend Fred Williamson. It would be unforgiving of me not to mention my Westchester County Family; formaly known as The Palace, 518 Main St. was definately the place to be. It was Johnny G's home for much of the 80's and part of the early 90's. Aside from the '2 homes' of the 'turntable rocker', there wasn't a club in the tri-state area he didn't get to rock; except for THE PARADISE GARAGE ('Larry' didn't play that!!). Prior to acquiring his Bachelor's Degree from N.Y. Institute Of Technology (class of '85) and his F.C.C. 1st Class License (1980), he, along t with KBJ, Timmy Hall, and Kool DJ Rock, formed the 'infamous' Come off Crew, holding Uptown down for much of the 70's and early 80's, and were considered to be one of 'NY's Finest!'. Managing Night Clubs was also part of my 'forte' for some 20 years, while still creating and mixing music to the delight of anyone listening. His ear for mixing has often been referred to as 'magical'. Make no mistake. The mixing supremacy of the Award Winning Mixologist Johnny G is here to stay!!!! And I'm bringing 'a few friends' along; those who helped me 'pave the way'.
