LP "Shining In The Shade"

Feeling a bit camera shy

My name is AXE...well you may have heard 'Too Bad' on MTV or MTV2 by now. Things stay crazy for me..with alot of labels trying to sign me to sell your soul contract offers. I made a choice a while ago that I dont do this for fame or money really its about people feeling the energy and power of this sound..because really it has to be about the music and the vibe and the message. Special Thanks to my Homie Capelton (Dancehall Legend) and The Marley Gongs who have felt my sound and inspired..that helped me get where I am now...the craziest thing is the response from all the folkz that have purchased my CD saying how its now their favorite CD and its constatly in there CD player......thats blessed to hear everytime..much luv to all ya'll..

The Axe grew up around Jamaican Rasta friends learning roots and culture, they annually attended The Reggae On The River Festival. The sound of dancehall and roots rock reggae were always a part of Axe’s soul and helped to guide his life. Mixing those sounds and blessed with the streetwise knowledge of concious hip hop created the natural sound of Axe. Since 1992 Axe has been rocking audiences with a powerful stage show that gets the crowds jumping, chanting out and waving hands and lighters in the air. Axe brings the next level in dancehall/concious hip hop, with a rock n 'roll edge to it. While in Europe playing pro football in NFL Europe, Axe continued to try to get shows to play his music along with Football. After meeting with Capelton(dancehall legend) backstage and receiving praise and blessings from the star for his skills by saying to Axe that he has holy talent, the flame was really ignited. Axe was in Europe living a football dream spreading the game overseas to new fans, and playing running back for 6 different NFL Europe teams. The Axe made a name for himself on the field and also playing live shows in clubs and venues from Italy to London and over to Amsterdam at the same time. While in England Axe was invited to perform on the local radio, leaving the radio DJ inviting Axe to help on a weekly radio show named Global Hip Hop Weekly. Axe also played and had a successful stretch of live shows in five different cities across Italy and also on Italian Hip Hop radio stations, making live show spots that really led to a great fan following overseas for the Axe. After NFL Europe Axe has now returned home to the Bay Area were he studied about the Original sound from Jamaica working with Reggae Veterans like Rankin’ Scroo (International Reggae Artist), Featured with Axe on the riddem track named “Ragga Muffin Soldiers.” Also learning and exchanging notes with Jamaican Reggae/Dancehall gurus, like Lutan Fyah and Sizzla two dancehall stars from Jamaica, giving Axe real insight into the realest vibes in the music that Axe has been excelling in. As he takes notes from veterans and stars and puts his own sound and unique vocal ability together that blends hip hop and dancehall in one sound that has a very new alternative feel. Playing local shows with Hip Hop legends like Black Sheep and Hieroglyphics. The Axe and The People continue to play great shows together regularly to a growing fanbase and it really is a great latin reggae hiphop show. The Axe continues to have a fan base that spreads from Genre to Genre. This Sicilian-Latin speaks fluent Spanish as well as being fluent in Italian. Axe is from Argentina and Sicily. Look for Axe coming to your city. Axe will be a headliner at many of the music festivals around the globe, coming in 2006.
