"PA Musician"

Axum has since become one of PA's most respected original acts and has opened for several national acts including Apex Theory, Our Lady Peace, and Jimmy Eat World. Fronting Axum is vocalist Tim McKenna with fellow bandmates, Don Shiner on guitar, Matt Croyle on bass, and Chris Monteagudo on drums. A new CD is tentatively slated for a March release, so keep an eye out for that. You won't be disappointed. - Shel Hoachlander

"WQWK 97.1 FM"

Put simply, Axum is a force to contend with. Listen to their album and you’ll be as blown away as I’ve been.” - J.B. Lynch, former program director

"Centre Daily Times"

Bio

What started as a part-time college cover band has grown into one of the biggest original bands in Pennsylvania and is now spreading throughout the region. In 2002 alone Axum received airplay on radio stations from Philly’s Y100 to Altoona’s Q94. In addition, Axum was featured on compilations from local artist showcases [Grape Street Pub, Volume II] to snowboard videos [2K2 : Sick Day, First Track Productions].

Axum’s current tour schedule consists of about 200 dates a year, including multiple trips to CBGB’s and The Continental [NYC], the Trocadero and Grape Street Pub [Philly], and other esteemed venues throughout the northeast such as Crowbar [State College, PA], The Chameleon [Lancaster, PA], Nick’s Fat City [Pittsburgh, PA], The Vault [Baltimore, MD] and Jaxx [West Springfield, VA]. They have headlined local festivals and played with some of the biggest names in music, such as Chevelle, Our Lady Peace, Apex Theory, Jimmy Eat World, The Get Up Kids, The Violent Femmes, Jimmies Chicken Shack, Sponge, Goldfinger, Reel Big Fish, Caroline’s Spine, Laughing Colors, and more.

On April 29th, Axum released their second full-length CD. Axum’s first CD, Heresay, sold about 1,000 copies during 2002, its debut year. With the release of the new CD Axum will be going for national exposure. Their immediate goal is to sell 10,000 copies of the new disc.
