Formed in Madrid towards the end of 2010, AYAHUASCA TANGO, is a traditional tango quartet made up of Ezekiel Lezama Camilli (Bandoneon), Giovanni Restieri (Violin), Guglielmo Foffani (Piano) and Ernesto Lapeña (Double Bass). The group can also be expanded into a standard tango orchestra (Orquesta Típica de Tango) with the addition of between four and seven musicians playing the Violin, Viola, Cello and Bandoneons. In accordance with the group's overall message of connection and integration, the musicians who make up AYAHUASCA TANGO come from various points of the globe, Buenos Aires, Milan, Sardinia and Madrid. Ernesto Lapeña
Born in Madrid in 1980, this versatile double bass player has had extensive training in both classical and modern music and participated in a wide variety of musical projects and styles.
In addition to studies in jazz, harmony and improvisation, Ernesto trained in classical music under Prof. Daniel Machado in Madrid. He participated in musicals such as Cabaret or Saturday Night Fever which toured in major theatres throughout Spain. He has collaborated with both symphony and chamber orchestras and played with various jazz groups including Jazz Festival of Madrid. He has also participated in flamenco projects such as the Flamenco
Festival of Córdoba and creates his own projects. After playing in various tango groups, both modern and traditional, he is currently completely immersed in this form.
Guglielmo Foffani

Born in Italy in 1977, Guglielmo Foffani began his musical studies at the age of nine, primarily focusing on classical piano. His ability to compose surfaced atan early age. At the age of 15, he entered the world of jazz, studying piano improvisation first at the Professional Music Centre of Milan and later at the Civic JazzSchool, also in Milan. When he turned 20, he began playing tango music. Bridging the different expressions of jazz and tango music, Guglielmo developed a very personal improvisional technique. He has performed in Milan, Rome, Madrid, Seville, Philadelphia and New York. He has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University (USA), and works as a researcher at the National Paraplegic Hospital of Toledo. In 2009, he received the Olympus Prize for Young Researchers given by the Spanish Neuroscience Society.

Giovanni Restieri

Born in Quartu Sant'Elena (Sardinia, Italy), Giovanni Restieri obtained his diploma in violin studies in 1998 from the G.P. da Palestrina Conservatory in Cagliari. Between 2001 and 2007 he collaborated in orchestral training courses and was second violin concertmaster with the Orchestra of the Experimental Lyrical Theatre of Spoleto, Italy. In 2005 he was a finalist in the Massimo Urbani International Award solo jazz competition and a semifinalist in the Piacenza Jazz competition. In the same year he obtained a degree in jazz from the Verdi Conservatory in Milan. He also pursued further jazz violin studies in Paris at the CMDL under the renowned jazz violinist Didier Lockwood. Since 2008 he has performed in numerous opera productions with the Academy Orchestra of the Teatro Scala of Milan. He has also toured the United Arab Emirates and Denmark as well as performed for ballets and lyrical symphonic concerts.

ezekiel lezama camilli

Born in Bs As, has been living in Madrid since 1990. He studied with Herman Ehrenhaus (oboe and English horn), and later in London with John Anderson (oboe) and Peter Thomas (chamber music). Before leaving his native Argentina, he performed as oboe soloist for the Bahia Blanca Simphony and the National Radio Youth Orchestra. In Spain he has worked with various orchestras, including Madrid, Malaga, Murcia and RTVE symphonies. He has also performed with the Queen Sofia Chamber Orchestra. In the field of contemporary music, he collaborates
with the AXIS Ensemble of Amsterdam and toured with them in Holland, Germany and Austria.
He is also founder and artistic director of the renowned ENSEMBLE NUEVO TANGO which
performed in Europe, Canada, USA, Mexico, Turkey, Romania, Jordan, Reunion, Bahrein and Cyprus. Since 2006, he has been focused on teaching himself to play the bandoneon.
