Bio
Kanisha E. Henderson, known in the industry as Ayo Nish! or DJ Ms. Perfect Touch has passionately created music for nearly ten years. She is best known for her ingenuity with sound and her versatility as an equally strong writer, MC, DJ and music producer.
Hailing from Newburgh, a city in upstate NY riddled with gang violence, drugs and poverty, Nish is a beacon for urban youth striving to get past environmental barriers. She performs, DJ’s, MC’s and writes for herself as well as other known and emerging artists.
As a DJ, Nish has performed at colleges and public venues across the country, has been featured on JAMZ 96.3, and was part of the live performance lineup at SXSW in 2013.Her songwriting and production team has worked alongside a plethora of influential artists such as Maybach Music Group, Young Money, The Roots, Jim Jones, Grafh, DJ Toomp, Patchwerk, and others. Nish has also opened for Flo Rida, Funk Master Flex, Day 26 and DJ Jazzy Joyce.
Nish maintains her close connection to community engagement through organizing anti-bullying
talent shows, guest speaking at youth events, teaching in public schools and non-profits, working with struggling urban youth and lending her time to women's interest groups.
Nish has recently joined forces with the Queens Museum to enrich their public programming, drawing connections from upstate NY to the city. Her social media platform boasts a fan base of 1.8 million supporters.
