With a deep, deliberate flow, hip hop artist Ayoo Rad is making waves in New Jersey’s bourgeoning underground rap scene. The Morristown native has been practicing his craft for over five years, and now he’s getting ready to take the East Coast by storm.



A entrepreneur, Ayoo puts in work for all aspects of his career. Creating his own logos, beats, lyrics and being a beast at self promotion, the rapper controls every detail of his business.



Recently, Ayoo received an invite to participate on the prestigious Team BackPack website, a place for young artist to achieve some shine. In addition to that, the Jersey born rapper has opened for hip hop legends Rakim, Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden,, Keith Murray and Das EFX, acquiring knowledge each time he had an opportunity to rock with the veterans.



Currently Ayoo Rad has been working with fellow up and comers Kevin Kush and lyricist Kid Pro on a summer time EP, stretching his talents west of Jersey all the way to the mean streets of Reading, Pa.

Fresh off of winning our DOPE OR NOPE segment for his track with Chad we are back with a song review for “Duck Soup” by Ayoo Rad. THIS BANGS. Ayoo Rad curated a great song here, featuring K.I.D. Pro & Kevin Kush as well. This track has an amazing energy right from the beginning and keeps your head bobbing. Possessing a tradition boom bap sound, Duck Soup is also sure to give a lot of bass lines a run for their money. The instrumental really captures your attention and is complimented by 3 amazing lyrical displays on the verses.

Fresh off of his “DOPE or NOPE” victory, we have an interview with Ayoo Rad. This guy has a great flow and brings great energy to each track. We definitely suggest that you check him out ! Take a moment to read our interview with Ayoo Rad below !
1. Who are you?

Ayoo Rad, Ayoo Radical, The Veteran Smoker, Sir Smokes Alot.
2. What state are you from and what area do you rep?

I am from Jersey (973) all day. I rep all of New Jersey, someone has to, nobody knows how though.
3. Who are your biggest influences/inspirations?

My biggest inspiration is my grandmother. Going on 80 and still gets up early and works. You cant tell her no. The fact that she works still, taking care of people her age and a little older, means that I was born with one of the strongest will power, dedication you can find. I look at her everyday like a super hero. I wouldn’t be where I’m at without her. In music, Andre 3k, Pusha T, Em, 50 Cent, Big L, Jay, Pac, BIG, Juru Da Damaja, so many. Im an old school hip hop R&B fan. So you’ll hear me bump Tribe or OutKast, even The Outsidaz before you hear me play some of todays music.
4. Why did you decide to make Hip-Hop music?

I had a friend who is incarcerated right now flat out tell me we had to. Shoutout to Robby Guarantee, he helped me break through before he got jammed on some bullshit. We started on my Nextel Chirp, recording frees and listening back, to his moms living room on sound recorder recording intros, hooks, and verses all in one take because theres no editing on sound recorder, and the 5$ Radio Shack mic didn’t help either, but we had some people in town who seen a vision in us and gave us shots and I know if Robby was here, he’d be right here with me, but I got him. We on the way up. Soon as he out I’m trying to toss him a deal and 5 G’s to get on his feet. I ain’t saying I’m close but I can smell it.
5. What makes you different than every other artist?

Well, I cant speak for anyone else, but I feel like i bring much more than hit songs which everyone is doing now. I started out writing poetry in middle school, so you’ll hear some kendrick influenced tracks, but then again, I like my tribe, and outkast, so you’ll hear that, I’m all over with music, theres no box for me. I might even break out in Rock, JK lol. But i am very versatile, and my song writing is very well, I love writing R&B, hope I can send some to Drake and be on that writing Camp lol.
