The 2009 Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase sponsored by Boss Lady Entertainment- Shante, Snoop’s Wife, is a concert put on to help unsigned artist looking to get a record contract obtain the needed fan base, ticket and cd sales needed to attract record label attention. Showcase artist are selected from hundred of entries sent in to our company and only the artists that are polished enough for that next level are selected for an in person audition. JaMiel Cox is truly an artist making an impression in the R&B market. Naming Stevie Wonder, Prince, Mary J. Blige and Luther Vandross as his influences, the Fort Pierce, Florida native has an undeniable vocal talent and musicality that echoes some of the brightest stars of our time. Growing up in the Baptist church also attributes to the soulful and bold musical style of this promising crooner.
But it wasn’t until he won the Homecoming talent show as an undergraduate at Florida A&M University that JaMiel knew he wanted to seriously pursue a career as a professional singer. Growing up in a small town and being a product of a single family home through his diligence and passion, JaMiel has shared the stage with such stars as Tank and Angie Stone, but he has also obtained significant recognition on the airwaves, both commercial and internet. His music continues to receive strong airplay in Europe and parts of Asia, but the internet radio charts exhibit the true promise of this artist as his single “Lost” climbed to the #14 spot, as his self-titled debut album reached the Billboard Internet Charts Top 15. This is what got the attention of Australian record label Blue Pie who signed the artist in late 2010.
Jamiel continues to grow not only as an artist, but as a versatile individual in the entertainment industry; he may now call Atlanta, GA home and he is responsible for the organization and execution of the Southeast Independent Artist Summit.
Not only is JaMiel a vocal talent, but he possesses a classic stage presence to provide the most entertaining performance for his fans. Jamiel Cox is truly the overall package that the industry seeks in a successful R&B artist.
