The name "AZIZAA" is more like a cultural proverb or an incantation. Some interpretations are; A mythical being, one who can do anything spiritually and physically without leaving a spoor, Master of the Bush, the spiritually enlightened, mediator of the spiritual and physical worlds, mythical dwarf, or one who can take you to another dimension.
My names define my personality and my music defines my beliefs. My music is created with LOVE and the intention to HEAL from the roots, so i cal it ROOTS/HEALING MUSIC.
Music is love. Music is a universal language. Music is a spiritual bond. Music takes your soul to a different place. Music sets your spirit free. Music is endless. Music is infinity and beyond! Born JEMIMAH EWOENYEMAWUA(WOENYEA) AMENYAFE ABLAH ABOTSIGAH on August 23 1983 in the small city of HO, capital of the Volta Region in GHANA, West Africa.. Music is the only comfort I have known for as long as I can remember, no matter what emotional state I was in, music always came to the rescue.. coming from a spiritually grounded family and a long line of musicians/composers, music was inevitable. My true musical inspiration is my father whom to me is the best vocalist i have ever heard and will ever hear. He is known throughout the churches as the choirmaster with the "BIG VOICE", and his father, my grandfather (The Original AZIZAA ) though he was one of the best Herbalist known in Ghana, in the church he was the "BEST COMPOSER" and my mother is also very well known for her Alto. I remember waking up at 3am to watch my mother and father doing some wierd vocal training with water and lemon, and i'd hide and do what i could without getting caught and sent back to bed. The sound of music makes my spirit want to jump for joy, so anywhere i heard an instrument or someone singing I'm pulled to it. I started singing along to any song i heard and could remember and what i couldn't remember i made up. At the age of 14, i lived in Canada and wrote my first song and the rest is just too complicated to comprehend. With the ups and downs of life, my ancestors and their spirit allies guided me untill I finally found my musical voice and the direction in which i want it to go. And that is to make a difference in one persons life if not the world. I am currently working with PePeLove records in new jersey.
