Biography

Azul Zero was born in 2004 within school friends learning how to play music. It took the band three years to develop a stable lineup and a solid sound. The influences in the band were very diverse as it is reflected in our music. The band started by covering bands that ranged from Enanitos Verdes and Soda Stereo to Cradle of Filth and Avenged Sevenfold.

In January 2007 the band recorded and released their first single "Nunca Mas" (Never Again) inspired by poems of Edgar Alan Poe. The single gained quick popularity in national radios and earned the band the local Subterranica award "Best Nu-Metal Band of 2007."

The release of "Nunca Mas" opened doors for the band to play both in crowded gigs such as "Musifest" (Music Festival) and "Guerrock" (Rock against War) as well as small venues and private parties. This also granted Azul Zero the opportunity to share stage with big names of salvadoran rock bands like Adhesivo and FrigĂźey.

In 2008 the band was selected by an online poll to participate in a battle of five bands for the opportunity to be the open act at the concert of Misfits. That same year Azul Zero was selected, along with 4 other national bands to play in a tribute to Broncco (The first Salvadorean rock band).

Being a completely independent band, recording songs gets done between work, practices and recitals. Until today the band has recorded 6 original songs and an instrumental cover.

Azul Zero's songs cover a big array of rock music subgenres. "Nunca Mas" is a post-harcore song while "Ribera de una Noche Plutonica" is a rock ballad. This shows the diversity of influences the band has gained along the years to build up its unique sound.

In 2013 Azul Zero reunited after 3 years of "vacation". The band started by playing at one of the most sought after venues of the El Salvador's nightlife "Jagger's Bar." The band's reunion was advertised in several national radio stations as well as national newspapers. The band also reunited to record their first LP to be released beginning this coming 2014.

Azul Zero is a band made for people who love rock, for those that do not fight over which band has more grammys or which band is not a "Sell-out." It´s a band that makes music for those who want to hit the play button and enjoy life.
