Biography

Azul Zero is a hard rock band from San Salvador, El Salvador.  Founded in 2004 by 4 highschool students as a hobby. The band became something more after playing on one of the most prestigious rock shows of the decade in El Salvador (The Musifest).

Since the beginning Azul Zero refers to their sound as Eclectic Rock, because it can't be categorized into a single sub-genre. The band's songs vary from punk to ballad and from metal to grunge.

In 2007, after a few years struggling to make themselves be noticed by the tough Salvadoran rock scenary, their founder and guitarist decides to abandon the band. His spot is taken by another close school friend. Later, the band decides to record their first demo “El Cochinito Roto” produced by Julio Rodas from Symbolic and Dreamlore, a metal legend in El Salvador.

The single “Nunca Mas” earns them the respect of local bands, and gets them the win of Salvadoran Subterranica Award for Best Nu-Metal in 2007 (http://subterranica.com/halldelafama.html). The release of their demo opened doors to music festivals such as Musifest 2007, Guerrock 2008, Teloneros de Misfits 2008, ExpoU 2010, UCAfest 2011 among others.

During these festivals Azul Zero shared the stage with international Salvadoran bands such as Friguey and Adhesivo.

After 2011, the band decided to take an indefinite break from touring. Each band member focused on their studies. The break gave time for them to individually write new material. In 2013 Azul Zero returns to participate in local musical events, like the ASI GREENFEST 2013 and Batalla de Talentos Golden 2014. They also decide to travel to Austin, Tx to perform and record their new music.

The band has released their first full length album titled DIEZ (which translated to TEN), on August 2015, after 10 years of their musical journey. Diez can be found on spotify, itunes, googleplay and other major music vendors. At the same time the band is preparing a second full-length album (Quince).
