Baby Medusa is a Los Angeles band that brings together strains of punk, pop, hard rock and country, evoking the glam rock stylings of T.Rex, the Midwestern twang via LA hard rock thrust of Guns N Roses, and the three-chord bubblegum pop of the Ramones. With a keen interest in hooks and melodies, Baby Medusa catches listeners attention through explosive power-pop intros, then seduces them with soaring melodies and from-the-heart lyrics.
Austin Blyth and Phil Julius provide a double-guitar attack, with Austin ripping through Slash-esque leads and Phil laying down a Johnny Ramone-like machine gun rhythm. Both Austin and Phil provide vocals, intertwining Austin's guttural baritone with Phil's smooth tenor, creating a vocal blend that both delights and haunts. Sam Julius's propulsive McCartney-esque bass lines and Tyler Ryan's Bonham-y drumming equal a rhythm section reminiscent of Nirvana & Led Zeppelin.
Baby Medusa recently played the legendary House of Blues in West Hollywood, known for being the location of 2Pacs last concert appearance.
