It seems now a day the hip hop reggae genres have begun to parallel each other even more so than in the past.
Artists for both genres are a dime a dozen all with similar content and
flows and just as on hip hop it's rare to come across a reggae artist
that breaks the monotony, exudes crossover appeal but still stays true to themselves with meaningful song lyrics.
Rising International Reggae Pop Superstar Baby Chris is such an artist.

After experiencing international success with his break out hit song "Ring Ding Ding"
Chris prepares to debut his new album under the label 5 Stars Recording INC, "Born Cwagg". The first single from the forthcoming project "What did I do" is a beautifully sung love Ballad that is currently receiving 300 plus spins nationally on both the pop and urban music charts.

Look for Baby Chris debut album out shortly on iTunes and all major music distributors.

Bio

Born Christopher Lloyd in one of Kingston’s toughest communities, Cockburn Pen, birth place of reggae legends such as Daddy U Roy, Josey Wales, Admiral Bailey and Super Cat, Dancehall Artiste Baby Chris started entertaining small audiences in his community at the tender age of nine. He attended the Seaward All Age School and Tivoli High respectively. At age 14 Christopher decided to pursue a career in music, giving birth to an International Reggae Pop Superstar from Cockburn Pen, “Baby Chris”. Baby Chris’ introduction to the music biz was delivered at the hands of Lukie D, one of his favorite Reggae Artistes. Chris’ first studio outings were to King Jammy’s, where he was known as little Chris before he was called Baby Chris.

Baby Chris migrated to the UK in 2000 intent on furthering his music career. While in the UK he met Lenky and Orthodox who were pursuing the same dream. The trio formed a group called L.O.C. In June 2005 L.O.C found success with its first Smashing hit single entitled ‘Ring Ding Ding’, on Jet Star Record Label. ‘Ring Ding Ding’ did very well in the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. It was also included on the ‘Best selling’ compilation for Jet Star, Tim Westwood and VP Records in New York.

Despite achieving success with L.O.C. Baby Chris felt a loss of connection with the reggae world and returned to Jamaica in order to reconnect. While in Jamaica, Baby Chris, quickly got back in the groove of things and started working with producers such as Free Willy with whom he did his new single Ring Ding Ding PT. 2 which is quickly becoming a hit in the dance halls.
In 2008 Baby Chris was introduced to Clifton Lawrence, CEO of 5 Stars Recording Inc by songstress Alisha “Alibra” Bramwell at a recording mixer. Clifton was impressed by Chris’ charisma, style and spunk and decided to sign Chris to his independent record label in order to guide his crossover to mainstream industry.
Since signing with 5 Stars Chris has toured all over the world, widening his fan base and earning himself the status of International Reggae Pop Superstar. He has also spent time connecting with fans through social networking and live performances in schools in Jamaica and the UK. Chris’ first solo album was released for licensing in Australia/New Zealand and London by Timeless Music Company and Craze Productions during the MIDEM 2010 music conference in Cannes, France.
Chris is currently on his “Born Cwagg World Tour 2011” promoting his smash new hits “What Did I do?”, “Best Woman”, “Star In My Eyez”, “Gradez Wake Me” featuring fellow 5 Stars recording artiste Versatile and “Born C.W.A.G.G.” which is soaring up the Caribbean music charts worldwide. The “Born Cwagg World Tour” started in Jamaica and continued into the UK, connecting with artistes such as I-Octane, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo and Seanizzle to name a few. Baby Chris has also performed as part of I-Octane’s “My Life” tour and Serani’s “Serani and Friends Skip To My Lou” tour hitting big in the US. Chris also performed along side other reggae stars at “Jamrock for Japan”, a fund-raising show held in support of earthquake victims in Japan.
Presently Chris is hard at work scheduling the release of his second solo album, “Born Cwagg”. Chris travelled to London, Myrtle Beach and also performed at the Best of the Best concert in Miami during the 2011 Memorial Day weekend to promote the second single from his upcoming album, “Star In My Eyez” which is speedily becoming a Billboard hit.
Chris and 5 Stars Recording Inc are eagerly working towards branding Baby Chris and his Born C.W.A.G.G. (Creative With All God’s Gifts) theme. Eventually Born C.W.A.G.G. merchandise (clothing and paraphernalia) will be available for purchase. Baby Chris hopes to continue representing Reggae/Dancehall music all over the world and perform in Jamaica on major shows such as Fully Loaded, Sumfest, Champions In Action, Sting and many more in the future.
