Rich Shelton then chips in with "A Part of History” featuring Baltimore rapper D.K. who honestly steals the show from EVERYONE on the album. The song is flawless as D.K. uses metaphor after metaphor to paint his life picture for us. If you haven’t heard of D.K. you will soon if he puts forth more efforts like this. Out of all the songs his song moves me the most each and every time.

Baltimore hip-hop artist DK is masterfully making moves in the rap game, has rapidly advanced to checkmate, and is now awaiting his crown. He has no doubt cornered the market with a rare blend of street credibility, magnetizing charisma, and lyrical substance, and he insists that he’s “the best hip-hop artist you never heard!”
He’s dedicated over 10 years towards artistry in the rap game. During this decade of personal and artistic development, his stage name evolved from ‘Da Kid’ to simply to DK, and yet still perfectly defines his reign within the industry. He recalls writing his first rhymes about the NBA while in the 4th grade. Over the years, DK quickly became affiliated with industry heavyweights, and gained industry exposure early on. He’s already worked alongside Jay-Z, Un Kasa (Dipset), Domination, and M.O.P., as well as scored production by Kanye West, 9th Wonder, and the late J Dilla.
In efforts to spread his wings, DK decided to approach long-time acquaintance. Chuck Wilson, Co-founder of indie powerhouse label Babygrande, and was signed to the label in 2005. Soon afterwards, he released the unforgettable classic single, “A Part of History,” which was featured on Purple City’s Road to Riches Mixtape, and received rave reviews from critics. He also dropped an impressive freestyle on Purple City’s Candyland Mixtape that same year.
In between spitting solid verses on other artist’s albums, DK worked on his latest release, the King Me Mixtape presented by NY’s Hot 97 DJ Kay Slay and Purple City Emperor Shiest Bubz.
What is DK’s message to his fans and fellow up-and-coming artists?
“ Success in this game is 50% style and 50% substance. I am the Best rapper you never heard, I master the art of it.”
